Insurance Associate, Part-Time, Orange, NJ

New Jersey Medicare Brokers is seeking a motivated, resourceful and highly organized Insurance Associate. The role is up to 25 hours per week at our office in Orange, NJ. You will be an integral part of our team, supporting the growth of the business through customer relations and administrative support. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to grow and learn about health insurance, business compliance or communications industries.

 

Duties

  • Assist our customer service efforts by answering our business phone line, monitoring emails, and responding to website inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Support the insurance brokers with required federal and state-based compliance activities throughout the sales process including but not limited to scheduling and confirming appointments and gathering personal information for prospective clients prior to an appointment
  • Assist with communication management with current clients, including sending follow-up communication and sales materials to new clients
  • Screen and assist current and prospective clients with applications for federal and state assistance programs and check the status of applications weekly
  • Utilize software applications such as Microsoft Office, Salesforce and Google Suite to create, edit, and store documents
  • Prepare and send outreach mailings, review requests and referral gifts to clients
  • Monitor supply and order office supplies, insurance applications and other required materials

Position Requirements

  • Positive attitude and openness to learn new concepts independently
  • 2+ years of similar experience in customer service and relations, database management, compliance activities
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral). Bilingual English/Spanish preferred (written and oral)
  • Excellent organizational skills to work independently and manage multiple projects with different deadlines
  • Attention to detail and maintaining accurate records
  • Proficient in data entry with a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Experience with Google Office Suite, Zoom, Salesforce and all Microsoft Office applications
  • Proficient in using office equipment such as computers, printers, and scanners
  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent
  • Valid NJ Driver’s License

Physical Requirements

  • Position includes prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Candidate must be able to lift to 20 pounds, at times

Compensation

  • $23/hour up to 25 hours per week
  • Accrued paid sick time
  • Position to start on or after July 1, 2025 through December 31, 2025
